Republika Srpska to deploy Gaming Standards based solution on a National Scale with ComTrade support

January 19, 2011 | Sarah Blackburn

ComTrade formerly known as HERMES SoftLab, has today announced the deployment of its Central Monitoring solution based on open standards for “Republička uprava za igre na sreću” (RUIS), which is the gaming regulatory board under the ministry of finance at Republika Srpska.

The launch of the Central Monitoring system utilising data acquisition and processing based on open standards is one of the first run by an authorised regulator. The monitoring system uses a well known System-to-System (S2S) protocol from the gaming Standards Association (GSA) to collect accounting data from each gaming venue. It is also capable of storing collected data metrics, performing analysis and offering various reports for casino gaming machines, betting shops and online gaming sites. The S2S protocol was extended with betting metrics in order to support data collection from gaming sites other than casinos to allow a consistent and efficient collection of account data from betting shops.

Aleš Gornjec, Business Development Manager for Gaming at ComTrade said “This is a major breakthrough for the GSA standards based system within the gaming sector. ComTrade is committed to the development, support and assistance of open standards in many areas where gaming is not an exception. We are pioneers in this space of installed systems as we look to the future, and towards a standardized and open approach to gathering and processing gaming related data.”

Mr. Zdravko Milicevic, director of Administration for Games of Chance in Republic of Srpska said: “Central control of all gaming operations in Republic of Srpska is a very important project for our future strategy. We wanted an open standards based solution, that would be efficient and with minor expenses to chance games providers. ComTrade has manufactured such a solution to provide gambling regulator a versatile and powerful tool for collecting, verification, analysis and visualization of accounting data from gambling process to address regulator’s needs on knowing how operators perform. Project was implemented in very short period of time with all requested functionalities.”
