Further boosting its presence in the gaming industry, Isle of Man Post Office has won the International Business of the Year award at the 2012 Awards for Excellence.

The coveted award, which was won at a ceremony in the Isle of Man’s Villa Marina on November 15, will enhance the company’s position as a global leader and supplier of secure direct mail for the gaming industry.

Mike Kelly, Chief Executive of Isle of Man Post Office, commented: “This reward is in recognition of our commitment to creating an innovative diversification strategy, helping the business to thrive when traditional services and mail volumes are in decline.”

Since making its entrance into the gaming industry almost 12 months ago, Isle of Man Post Office has developed a great reputation for delivering a full solution of direct mail services through its integrated mailing solutions department.

Over the last twelve years, the company has grown significantly, particularly with the introduction of its Integrated Mailing Solutions (IMS), a specialist business communications division that operates confidential and secure mail, scanning and print services.

“We have evolved to be able to offer clients based locally and internationally physical and digital mail services, which has not only contributed significant financial reward, but has placed Isle of Man Post Office on the map as one of the most up and coming innovative Posts in the world,” said Kelly. “Everything we do is designed to support businesses in imaginative, cost-effective ways, while keeping data and other material totally secure.”

One of the company’s long-term strategies is to take its trusted third party into the secure electronic communications market. “We launched our first digital mail product, ePostbox, this year, which is available to clients globally.Customers can, for the very first time, receive their postal mail online, anywhere in the world 24/7. Electronic mailboxes are the future and will go from being a niche product to a service for the wider public – this is the first stepping stone towards achieving that.” He added: “We also have an exciting product that will be launched next year, complementing our existing mailing services.”

Thanking customers, partners, suppliers and Isle of Man Government, as its principle stakeholder, for their support,

Kelly said: “This is a very exciting time for the Post Office as we continue to expand our global client base. However, we remain committed to our Isle of Man-based customers and we will continue to play a vital role in the local community.

Hosted by Isle of Man Newspapers, the Awards for Excellence is a celebration of the island’s success from the business sector.
